Join our one week yoga retreat in the serene atmosphere of Vieira do Minho, north Portugal.
The daily practice of yoga, breathing exercises and guided meditation invites everyone to develop a new sense of wellbeing.
You are welcome to experience deep relaxation, playfulness and connection through the daily group activities or to enjoy your free time in the stunning area of Gerês.
The program combines elements of self-awareness through silence and contemplation, daily practice of yoga, breathing exercises, guided meditation and dynamic group activities. In one week you will have the opportunity to participate in:
daily hatha yoga class
yin yoga class
daily breathing exercises
daily guided meditation
The program includes 3 daily vegetarian meals: breakfast, lunch and dinner.
Water, fruits and tea are always available.
The program is not mandatory to be followed, so you are free to choose between being part of the activities or enjoy your free time in the beautiful surroundings of the retreat location.
No previous yoga experience is needed to enjoy the retreat. What matters is to come with your heart open to relax, play and connect with yourself and with others.

LOCATION & ACCOMMODATION
The retreat offers salted swimming pool and jacuzzi *with limited use,
and plenty of space to practice yoga, rest or enjoy your free time.
With a maximum capacity for 14 guests, the retreat location has 3 different types of accommodation to offer:
All accommodations are double bedrooms with a *private bathroom.
One of the two accommodations in the main house doesn’t have a private bathroom.

HATHA YOGA CLASSES
In the daily Hatha Yoga classes guided by Karol Rodrigues, you will be able to experience 90 minutes of breathing exercises, yoga postures and relaxation exercise.
YIN YOGA CLASSES
In the Yin Yoga classes guided by Guiba Guimarães you will be able to experience full-body muscle stretching and release of all physical and emotional tension.
AFTERNOON AND EVENING PROGRAMS
The program offers diverse group activities where you will have the opportunity to connect with yourself and others, through self-reflection and self-awareness.
The Karma Yoga it will be daily practice and includes volunteer work which can be, for example, taking care of the house or gardening.

With a diverse atmosphere, the surroundings offers the opportunity to enjoy nature or cities.
Here are some places to visit and the distance from the retreat location:
• 6 km – Barragem do Ermal
With calm, clear and crystalline waters the area offers excellent conditions for tourism, including water sports such as swimming, water skiing, wakeboard, canoes and stand up paddle.
• 20 km – National park of Peneda-Gerês
The Parque Nacional da Peneda-Gerês is located in the far north of Portugal on the border with Spain.
The National Park is known for its beautiful walking trails, diverse wildlife and flora. There are now more than 100 granite villages within the Park, which in many ways have changed little since the founding of Portugal in the 12th century.
• 40 km – Guimarães
Guimarães is considered the birthplace of Portugal because here was born Afonso Henriques who would become the first king of Portugal. Listed as one of the most well preserved historic cities, Guimarães offers a variety of national monuments and historic buildings.
• 40 km – Braga
The third largest city of Portugal combines history and culture.It is home to the oldest cathedral in the country and has the largest universities of Portugal.
In the many choices that Braga offers you can enjoy the nightlife with a young population or visit Bom Jesus do Monte church with its amazing staircase.
• 90 km – Porto
On the top of the steep banks of the river Douro, Porto is the second largest city in Portugal. and boasts superb views of the world-famous Port Wine Cellars, on the opposite bank of the river, in Vila Nova de Gaia.
By the river, the Ribeira district becomes fascinating with its alleys, typical houses and picturesque population.
The city of Porto offers many other attractions, monuments and museums. With a well-known gastronomy and hospitable population, it is also the starting point for the unforgettable experience of sailing up the Douro River.

HOW TO GET THERE
Flight to Porto International Airpoirt (OPO) – Francisco Sá Carneiro Airport.
There are many aircraft companies that flights to Porto from all over the world.
RENT A CAR
If you are looking to rent a car, the Porto International Airport has many options of what company to choose. Although we advice of making a reservation with one of the companies some weeks before your day of arrival.
Traveling by car in Portugal is really safe, easy and the retreat location is also easily find by GPS.
To reach the retreat location you will spend around 1 hour and 15 minutes getting the A41 highway towards Guimarães city.
The Porto International Airport offers plenty numbers of cabs that can ride you to the retreat location.
The cost of the ride is around 70 to 90 euros.
We will provide a Facebook group where you can contact people that are also coming to the retreat, so people can contact each other and save some money traveling together.
You can also access www.rome2rio.com to choose another way of traveling to the retreat location. Please be warned that public transport to Rossas is not recommended due to the lack of schedule hours options.
Magga Yoga Rereats grew from a small seed in our garden. By looking closely at plants, animals and humans in nature, we gradually carved out a program inspired by the natural growth cycle – going from seed, to growing tree, to fully blossoming canopy.
The seeds, to grow into trees, first lay their roots into the ground, strengthening their connection to the earth. At its own pace, its stem turns into a trunk, and breaking the barriers of gravity becomes strong enough to branch off into various branches, where leaves, flowers, and fruits will spring.
This is how Magga Yoga Retreats sees the human being: an infinite potential of creation, strength and connection. We believe that through becoming aware of the breath, of the body movement and the observation of our thoughts we can maintain a healthy body and mind so as to experience a more harmonious life with ourselves and everything around us.
MEET THE HOSTS
Karol Rodrigues experienced her first yoga class when she was 14 years old. Besides working as Yoga teacher, Karol is a passionate practitioner of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and surf.
She is a certified Yoga teacher, recognized by Yoga Allicance and Yoga European Association, and she obtained her diploma at Arhanta Yoga Ashram in The Netherlands. She is instructed in the Asana, Pranayama, Meditation, Anatomy, Yoga & Vedic Philosophy.
Her vast knowledge of anatomy and years of experience as a sport masseuse certainly add to her class. This enables Karol to smoothly guide movement and bring relaxation in a a safe atmosphere.
Karol has more than 2000 hours of yoga experience.
Guiba Guimarães offers structure, security and tranquility so that you can gradually discover your inner strength. Guiba gives various workshops and training in the field of personal development and nonduality coaching.
Guiba is a Yin and Hatha Yoga teacher also a NLP practitioner and a personal coach, . He has graduated at Arhanta Yoga Ashram in The Netherlands and is certified by Yoga Alliance and Yoga European Association. He is instructed in the Asana, Pranayama, Meditation, Anatomy, Yoga & Vedic Philosophy.
More than 3000 hours in guiding and coaching individuals and groups.
